Two devices launched and these devices will come to India in early January 2018. The devices are Samsung Galaxy A8, A8+ (2018) with dual selfie cameras. Let us see all the details about the new smartphones.

On Tuesday, Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) was officially announced. This is launched worldwide, and the smartphones will go on sale in South Korea. As South Korea is the home market of Samsung.


It is expected that soon the company will bring the devices to other markets, including India. As Galaxy A8 and A8+ are very important smartphones for Samsung. With these phones, the company hopes to take on the likes of Nokia 8 and OnePlus 5T.

However, Samsung Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ will go on sale in Early January 2018. Only the smartphones are launched but their price is not announced. The price will be announced only when the phones will go on sale. In the first half of January, it is said that the Samsung will display the A8 and A8+(2018) in Las Vegas.

Galaxy A8 and A8+ are the first A series phones by Samsung which comes with dual front cameras and also have Live Focus Features. Galaxy A8 and A8+ have dual front cameras so it is a good thing for selfie lovers.

The dual camera feature not only allows you to click good selfie but also gives photos with a Blurred background. Apart from the dual front cameras, the other new feature of A8 and A8+ (2018) is their Infinity Display. This new feature has come from the high-end Galaxy S8 and Note 8 which were launched in 2017.

The Vice President of Samsung, Junho Park said, “With the release of the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018), we’re bringing our customers’ favourite features from our flagship smartphones, such as the Infinity Display and our first Dual Front Camera with Live Focus, to our Galaxy A series, which is already known for its premium design.”

While talking about the specifications, both the smartphone does not have a lot of difference. The main difference between the two is in RAM, Storage, Battery, and Display.

The size of Galaxy A8 is a bit smaller than the A8+. The display of A8 is of 5.6-inchFHD+ Super AMOLED display with 1080×2220-pixel resolution. The A8+ has a little big with 6.0-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with the same resolution. The Infinity display on both the smartphones are same with an immersive 18.5:9 display ratio. On the back and front, the large screen supports the ergonomic curved glass.

Though, the displays of A8 and A8+ are similar to the display of Galaxy S8, but there are lots of other difference. The display of Galaxy S8 is curved but this display is flat. Even there is a difference between a resolution. The new Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ have 1080P screen.

Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+ sport an IP68 certified to build and also come with Samsung pay integration. Both the smartphone will come in four colour options, Black, Blue, Gold, and Orchid Grey.

On Specifications,

the device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. In the display, there is a curved glass protection on top. Both the devices have an octa-core chip with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six cores clocked at 1.6GHz. On talking about RAM, Galaxy A8 has 4GB RAM and A8+ comes in two variants 4GB and 6GB RAM.

Samsung has given a 16MP fixed focus, f/1.9 camera sensor and an 8 MP f/1.9 sensor. Both the sensors give the option to the user to have a blurred background or to have a clear background. The dual camera setup has a 16 MP camera sensor on the back with f/1.7 lens.

The internal storage of A8 and A8+ are 32 GB and 64 GB which can be expanded via memory card up to 256 GB. The connectivity options are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. There is a difference in Battery, A8 packs a battery of 3000mAh while A8+ has 3500mAh battery. Both the Galaxy A8 and A8+ comes with Fast Charging and USB Type-C support.
